 		The 2011 Mini-AZ race season is in the books. Nine race weekends of wheel to wheel battles, bold moves, hard setbacks, and amazing comebacks. Here are some stats from the 84 races of the Mini-AZ 2011 Season:

Distance: 4128 laps run by 1st place finishers, or 116.02 miles of racing
Most Wins: Brad with 35
Fastest Lap: Brad with 8.507sec around the Christiansenring
Biggest Mover: Dusty improved four spots in F1 over the season start
DNF's: 12 / DNS's: 2

Thanks again to DJ for opening his shop to us, and Wes for providing us with the excellent large room at the Holland Community Center. Its these venues that help make our races possible. Thanks to Hood's Hobbies for stocking the Mini-Z parts that keep us competing on race day. And thanks to all the drivers that come out week after week to compete together in this fun series.

The season finale was at the giant room-filling Indianapolis circuit. Fastest lap of the day goes to Brad with a 10.285 in the OCD. This was close, but didn't quite beat Paul's 10.142 record.

The challenging 1hr AZGT Le Mans saw lots of pit strategy play out, and even a tire change by Brad. Dusty began with a strong 2nd place run, but fell back when the front tire tape gave up and started throwing the tire, forcing additional stops to make repairs.

Brad joined Formula 1 in this final race to struggle around with a new AM car but still captured a podium. Dusty was on a 1st place charge early on, but wheel problems struck again. Post-race inspection showed the LR wheel nut backed halfway off leaving the wheel hanging loose!

This was a great season and a fun time. I hope to see you all for the 2012 campaign beginning in January.

This was the final season for the ATM series. It was a fun race, but in its place we are launching a new series in 2012, the Don Jackson Enterprises Porsche Cup, a 70km (scale) single make battle. See 'ya all in 2012!

 2011 Season, Week 8

 		This was our inaugural run at Snetterton and this real-world circuit from Norwich, UK was a hit. As usual, Brad set the track record with a 12.735sec in the OCD. However, this was a fast day for Wes who went purple in a number of races.

The data for the ATM didn't copy over, so I don't have specific lap data for that series yet. I'll update it later, but the points and such are correct.

Racing was quite tight with large groups of drivers finishing on the same laps. As always Formula 1 provided our closest battles with the top three drivers finishing close together. Dusty overcame a heavy mid-race crash to catch right up on Hood's rear wing but wasn't able to make the final pass. After 107 laps only 0.197sec separated 1st and 2nd at the end! DJ was charging up in 3rd, and after his OLPS performance, we could see a win next race.

With one race remaining in the 2011 campaign, most of the series are locked for the top spots, but the battle is still on for other positions. Good luck drivers!

 		The Mini-AZ series comes to the Phoenix Grand Prix circuit for the first time today. Previously we had only run our Formula 1 special event here, the 2010 Grand Prix of Phoenix. It was great fun with GT cars as well, and more challenging than the simple layout lets on. Monroe Street was the scene of many a traction rolled car!

Brad set a new track record with a 9.401sec in the AZGT. The previous record for the circuit was held by Paul with a 9.818 in F1. Wes fell just shy of that with 9.876, so Paul still holds the record in that category.

No1 Jumper returned with a much improved Ferrari and greatly improved his lap times as he continues to dial things in.

Wes had another go at the ATM, but something went very wrong from the start forcing him to retire. Joe's car looks shot from a cannon as he shrinks the gap to 1st to only 3 points!

Hood continues his Vettel-like charge by locking up the F1 Championship early, leaving the battle for 2nd-5th. Only 7 points separate the next two steps on the podium. It was a costly day for Joe with a broken steering pin forcing a late race retirement. Dusty had fallen many laps behind after losing a wheel on lap 44 followed by a long pit stop after a wreck, but inched past Joe in the final laps to keep 2nd place alive.

Only two races remain in the season with many positions on the line. Its time to go like hell!

 		Today we returned to the medium size Fastlandia Circuit. Despite its compact layout, it still takes a bit to get around the track. Brad narrowly edged out Hood for fastest lap of the day with a 9.384sec in the OCD.

No1 Jumper joined us today for his first run in a Mini-Z, jumping right in with the sharks of the OCD!

A frantic AZGT was another mini-enduro with eight lead changes and more shake up in the points.

Joe continues to inch closer to the lead in the ATM series. This one is going to come down to the final race!

In F1 Joe had an unbelievably rare double rear wheel break. However, the aluminum wheels he threw on in his 2:39.367 pit stop made his car much better, bouncing back to set the fastest lap of the race.

 2011 Season, Week 5

 		The midpoint in the season brings us to the new, larger Monza circuit for some fast and tight racing. There were many lead changes and lots of shake ups in the standings. The entire field was closely matched in all the series. In the AZGT the fast laps for the entire field were only 0.454sec apart!

Fastest lap, as always, goes to Brad with 8.728sec in the OCD.

Wes rejoined the ATM series, and after solving a technical glitch, came charging back to set the only sub-10sec lap for the All Wheel Drives.

F1 saw numerous lead changes and pit strategies with a battle for 2nd that came right down to the end, And for the third week Dusty and Joe trade position in the standings, now tied for points!

The series returns to Bill's twisting circuit of Wacked 4. Fastest lap goes to Brad with 8.810sec in the OCD.

DJ continues to leap up the AZGT charts by twos. You could throw a blanket over 4th-6th and Dusty is in striking distance of 2nd.

The tables have turned in OCD as Dusty gets his car working competitively again, bringing him within 7pts of leader Joe.

A thrilling Formula 1 race saw a new winner with Joe using his last three electrons to creep across the line just ahead of the next two on the same lap! Just 4.837sec less in the pits for Dusty would have secured victory over 2nd place on the podium.

 		We return once again to The Christiansenring for week #3 and the Petit Le Man round of the AZGT. Fastest lap goes to Brad with 8.507sec in the OCD.

DJ continues to become even more of a rocketship out there in all classes, trailing just behind Brad as the fastest car.

Joe further extends his lead over past champion Dusty in the ATM.

Dusty and Hood battled back and forth for the lead in Formula 1, but dud batteries left Dusty falling back after the pit stop into 2nd place.

And the OCD sees its first lexan body, which gained Brad 0.307sec over his Stock Class. That may not sound like much, but its several more laps over the field, which is more points in OCD.
